Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment
Proof that anyone can be trained to be free of empathy and torture fellow human beings. This is an important experiment. It proves that it can indeed happen to you good or bad. This is also strong evidence that our problems are systematic, not on an individual level. The "few bad apples" argument doesn't cut it any more. The apples aren't bad, the barrel is.
