Tasers: Judge, Jury, Executioner, Unconstitutional

The premise that tasers are safe is greatly based on cops themselves getting tased. Have you ever noticed that when cops get tased there are two cops holding each arm and they are standing on safety mats? Why is no one talking about the fact the when someone is tased they turn stiff as a board, in most cases falling to the ground with their heads bashing a hard surface in a whiplash motion and in many cases death occurring from the obvious head injury as a result of the original act of being tased? In the old days of billy-club wielding cops and in the cases that they use them, it would be a very rare instance for the first blow to be as hard as the officer could to be to the head, possibly causing death. Tasers are nothing more than cops being conditioned to use real guns on citizens, in my opinion. Judge, Jury, Executioner, Unconstitutional.

Everyone seems to be missing the real issue when incidents about tazers hit the news; THE POLICY ITSELF. These incidents are just a symptom of a poor policy. The may indeed be following protocol, but that does not make the protocol correct. This method of "pain compliance" (torture) for minor offenses is a gross misuse of a technology intended as a last resort for saving lives when facing violent individuals in life threatening situations. These devices have simply become tools to force obedience as if we were animals.
